Linux Ubuntu Command Cheat Sheet Part II

As I promised before, let's move on ubuntu cheat sheet part II

Network
ifconfig –> show network information
iwconfig –> show wireless information
sudo iwlist scan –> scan for wireless networks
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart –> reset network for manual configurations
(file) /etc/network/interfaces –> manual configuration
ifup interface –> bring interface online
ifdown interface –> disable interface


Special Packages
ubuntu-desktop –> standard Ubuntu environment
kubuntu-desktop –> KDE desktop
xubuntu-desktop –> XFCE desktop
ubuntu-minimal –> core Ubuntu utilities
ubuntu-standard –> standard Ubuntu utilities
ubuntu-restricted-extras –> non-free, but useful
kubuntu-restricted-extras –> KDE of the above
xubuntu-restricted-extras –> XFCE of the above
build-essential –> packages used to compile programs
linux-image-generic –> latest generic kernel image
linux-headers-generic –> latest build headers

Firewall ( Prefix commands with sudo to run )
ufw enable –> turn on the firewall
ufw disable –> turn off the firewall
ufw default allow –> allow all connections by default
ufw default deny –> drop all connections by default
ufw status –> current status and rules
ufw allow port –> allow traffic on port
ufw deny port –> block port
ufw deny from ip –> block ip adress

Application Names
nautilus –> file manager (GNOME)
dolphin –> file manager (KDE)
konqueror –> web browser (KDE)
kate –> text editor (KDE)
gedit –> text editor (GNOME)

System
Recovery -> Type the phrase “REISUB” while holding down Alt and SysRq (PrintScrn) with about 1 second between each letter. Your system will reboot.
lsb_release -a –> get Ubuntu version
uname -r –> get kernel version
uname -a –> get all kernel information

Simple Way To Edit Background Folder

Setelah beberapa kali membuat artikel dalam bahasa inggris, ternyata lama2 terasa kurang sreg dan ga bisa leluasa kl mo share tips dan trik disini soalnya memang bahasa inggris saya masih kurang jauh dari sempurna dibanding orang inggris hehe.. :D
ini pertama kali artikel coba saya tulis dalam bahasa Indonesia, untuk pengunjung dari negara lain bisa menggunakan fasilitas translate toolbar yang sudah ada di samping blog ini ( for visitors from other countries you can use translate toolbar existing alongside this blog )
Langsung aja ke pokok materi yah

Untuk membuat Background pada folder atau personal USB Flash disk kamu, bisa kamu gunakan 2 cara, yaitu memakai software atau cara manual

1. Cara pertama yaitu dengan memakai software IESHWIZ
Software ini sangat kecil, cuma sekitar 50 Kb dapat didownload disini

2. Cara yang kedua yaitu dengan cara manual
cara sebenarnya cukup simple yaitu:
- Buka Notepad ( Start -> All Program -> Accesoriess -> Notepad )
Start -> Run -> setelah muncul Run Comand ketik "notepad" (tanpa tanda petik)
- lalu copy paste script dibawah ini :

iconarea_image=Your_Images.jpg
iconarea_text=0x00FFFFFF

- ganti Your_Images.jpg dengan nama file gambar yang akan kamu jadikan backgroud folder kamu
- kemudian simpan file ini dengan nama desktop.ini
(pada notepad pilih menu save as lalu pada save as typenya kamu ganti all file, simpan dengan file name: desktop.ini)
- Sekedar catatan, file gambar yang akan kamu jadikan background kamu letakkan di root folder kamu/di folder paling utama di USB Flashdisk kamu, jangan didalam folder lain, kalau didalam folder lain jg bisa tapi lokasi pad scriptnya harus kamu ganti juga
-"iconarea_text=0x00FFFFFF" : 0x00FFFFFF adalah wkode warna untuk font
contoh kode warna :
FF00FF = Jingga / ungu
FF33FF = ungu terang
FF91FF = Ungu muda
FF62EE = Ungu sedang
d800e6 = Ungu gelap
FFFF4B = Biru muda
FFFF81 = bIRU muda
33FF = Merah
33FFF4 = Kuning
00FFFF = Kuning sedang
51B11B = Hijau gelap
10BB61 = Hijau gelap2
80FCA4 = Hijau muda
00FF00 = Hijau terang
DF280F = Biru tua
ff4321 = Biru terang
FF0000 = Biru
FFOOOO = Merah terang (O = BUKAN NOL)
8CCBDD = Coklat muda
